The route
From most of Malibu the route is PCH south through Santa Monica, then inland to LAX. It is a beautiful drive and an unpredictable one: PCH is a two-lane road for much of its length, so a single incident can hold the whole corridor with no way around it. That is why the window on this route is wider than the mileage suggests. Addresses west of Zuma add meaningful time and we quote them accordingly.
LAX to Malibu

PCH has no alternative route
On most LA trips a closure means a detour. On PCH it often means waiting. We build that into the pickup time rather than discovering it on the day, and we check conditions before departure — especially after winter storms, when slides and flooding close sections at short notice.
Weekend beach traffic runs against you
Summer weekends fill PCH from late morning, and holiday Fridays are worse. A midday Saturday departure from Point Dume is a genuinely different trip from the same run on a Tuesday morning, and the quote reflects that rather than pretending otherwise.
Long driveways and beach gates
A good number of Malibu addresses sit behind a gate, down a private drive, or on the ocean side with no obvious pull-in. Tell us the access when you book and the chauffeur arrives knowing where to stop, instead of circling on a road with nowhere to turn around.
